CQI-30 – Special Process – Rubber Processing System Assessment: practice on site – #230
Context
The CQI-30 (Rubber Process System Assessment) is a standard developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) for assessing and improving the control of rubber manufacturing processes, particularly in the automotive industry. These processes include mixing, extrusion, moulding and vulcanization of rubber components.Â
In accordance with IATF 16949 and specific customer requirements, the CQI-30 applies to all automotive sector suppliers that manufacture rubber parts or use rubber processing technologies in their production.Â
Â
The CQI-30 assessment aims to minimize the risk of failure in rubber processing operations, ensure the consistency, durability and performance of rubber components, and guarantee compliance with automotive manufacturers’ quality, safety and performance requirements.Â
This standard constitutes a strategy for the continuous improvement of special processes. It provides a structured framework that enables organizations to carry out self-assessments across several key areas, including:Â
- control of rubber processing operationsÂ
- equipment capability and maintenanceÂ
- management of critical parameters (such as temperature, pressure, mixing conditions and curing time)Â
- qualification and competence of personnelÂ
- effectiveness of monitoring and testing systemsÂ
In order to implement improvement measures aimed at ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of rubber products used in your applications, you need to ensure that you are familiar with the requirements and best practices of CQI-30, as well as the self-assessment guidelines.Â
Objectives
- Understand the specific requirements of clients who require the CQI-30.
- Be familiar with the contents of the CQI-30 manual (self-assessment tables, job audits, etc.).
- Identify the key points of the manual and the gaps that need to be addressed to comply with it.
- Learn how to use the tables in the CQI-30 manual through a practical self-assessment exercise.
- Develop an action plan to implement the CQI-30 manual.
Recommanded for

Pedagogy
The training alternates between theoretical sessions on the requirements of the CQI-30 manual and practical application sessions through exercises, followed by a practical self-assessment exercise in the field.
This training requires half a day of preparation with a Quality and/or Technical Manager from the company, to be carried out remotely prior to the on-site assessment. The purpose of this preparation is to:
- Select one or two relevant products to serve as training materials
- Select the documents required for the preparation of the on-site assessment
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (Multi Choice Questions)Â
Course materials
-
Participant file containing the presentations delivered during the training and the exercise materials.
- Digital training materials are made available to trainees a few days before the start of the training course on our LMS platform.
