VDA 19.1 – Control of the technical cleanliness of parts Updated to version 2026 – #981
VDA 19.1 – Control of the technical cleanliness of parts Updated to version 2026 – #981
Training in partnership with the VDA-QMC
Context
In modern vehicle manufacturing, the technical cleanliness of components and sub-assemblies is an important functional quality criterion.
The VDA 19.1 manual, ‘Technical Cleanliness Testing – Particulate Contamination of Functional Automotive Components’, deals in detail with the methods and procedures used to characterise the cleanliness of products in the automotive industry.
The VDA 19 manual was first introduced by VDA QMC in 2005 and has been available in a fully revised and expanded form under the title VDA 19.1 since 2015.
The third, fully revised edition was published in 2026, incorporating the latest extraction techniques and methods to adapt to new technologies in on-board equipment, the challenges of electromobility, high-voltage systems, sensors and driver assistance systems, which are far more sensitive to particulate contamination than traditional mechanical components.
This refresher training course is a prerequisite for continuing to carry out cleanliness inspections in accordance with VDA 19.1 (2026).
As a licensed partner, EUROSYMBIOSE is qualified to deliver this accredited training course.
This refresher course covers only the new features and changes introduced in the 2026 edition compared with the 2015 edition. Participants must therefore be familiar with the requirements of the 2015 edition of VDA 19.1.
Objectives
- Understand the new extraction methods for removing particles from components
- Understand the analytical methods for assessing particulate contamination
- Validate cleanliness monitoring using shake-off tests and blank tests
- Document cleanliness specifications and monitoring protocols
