Aviation Safety Management System – Renewal – #751 bis
Context
The EN9100 Management System standard does not cover all aspects of aviation safety, which is why the IAQG, through its SCMH, provides guidance on the implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS) to complement the Quality Management System (QMS).
Furthermore, this is a requirement imposed by several international and regional regulations (ICAO, EASA) that aircraft manufacturers must comply with in order to guarantee a high level of safety in civil aviation, reducing the risk of accidents and improving incident management.
Organisations must therefore comply with these regulations in order to obtain and maintain their operational certifications.
Objectives
- Review regulatory requirements relating to SMS, in particular those of EASA, Part 21G, Part 145 applicable to SMS.
- Identify the documentation required by the authorities and its use.
- Analyse how to integrate these requirements into AS/EN 9100 certified organisations (feedback).
- Be aware of the impact of your daily activities on product compliance and safety.
- Feedback on best practices for managing an SMS.
Recommanded for
- Anyone responsible for implementing and maintaining the SMS.
- Anyone in a key role in terms of safety
- Anyone in the quality department
- Anyone in management working in the field of aeronautical production or maintenance: both newcomers and experienced staff.
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of EN9100 requirements would be an advantage
- In the case of ‘renewal’ modules, customisation with customer feedback is an educational advantage.
Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: To blur or hide the view from behind, background screens are available in Zoom or Teams.
- A good Internet connection, tested before the session.
- Locate in a quiet, isolated area; switch to “not available” status in Teams; close your email access and mute your phone to avoid distraction during the session.
- To avoid off-topic discussions during the session, participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but rather at their own desks. Virtual sub-groups will be set up specifically for the exercises, which will also allow for mixed groups to be created.
- The webcam and microphone must be open during remote qualification/certification exams. It may also be necessary for us to check that you are the only one in the room.
- We ask that you connect at least 5 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Pedagogy
The training alternates between presentations of applicable requirements and concrete examples, in particular appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (MCQ)
Course materials
- Participant file containing the presentations delivered during the training and the exercise materials.
- Digital training materials are made available to trainees a few days before the start of the training course on our LMS platform.
