Best practices for implementing AS13100 applicable to the supply chain of aerospace engine manufacturers – #731
Context
- AS13100 ‘AESQ Quality Management System Requirements for Aero Engine Design and Production Organizations’ is a common set of quality requirements that now applies to all companies in the aerospace engine supply chain.
This new standard, supported by the Consortium of Aerospace Engine Manufacturers (General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Safran Aircraft Engines first and foremost), has been contractually applicable since 2023 and incorporates the principles and tools of operational quality excellence well known from the automotive sector. - The AS13100 standard applicable to the supply chain of aerospace engine manufacturers is supported by a series of reference manuals (RM13XXX) which provide guidance on its deployment, as well as case studies, to help suppliers implement the requirements effectively.
